A. AVG Review Check
Type a keyword in the Amazon search engine.
Make sure the results that come up are relevant

If you see a high review average count of more than 1500, that’s already too competitive. You can still compete but you need to work extra harder and nail the other aspects of selling Amazon.
B. Observe the prices.
If they price too close to each, then it will be much harder for you to profit as there’s already a price war going on.

A. SEO & listing check
Type different keywords in the search engine.
Observe how the competitors are doing their titles. See if many have keyword patterns.
If you notice competitors have very similar titles, long and solid bullets and descriptions, beautiful photos then that is a competitive product.
On the other hand if you notice competitors have short titles and bullets with no strong pattern, don’t have quality photos then you can definitely compete with them.
